About the project
There are many different tourist games available on the gryturystyczne.pl website. What is this unique form of sightseeing, and what makes it special? How do you use and play a tourist game? And finally, what are the different types of tourist games?
You will learn all this in the section below...
READ AND LEARN!
What is a tourist game?
A tourist game combines the best elements of an urban game and an outdoor game. You can take part in it at any time, completely independently, because it does not require the presence of animators, who are replaced by a game card containing all the necessary elements of the game.
You can download the game card as a printable file from the Find games section or get it as a printed copy at a tourist information point or a local library.
A tourist game is a much more engaging alternative to traditional sightseeing, especially for families with children or young people. Instead of passively following a guide—whether a person, a book description, or an online source—from one monument to another, you embark on an exciting adventure that encourages active participation.
A tourist game:
introduces an element of surprise and competition
presents participants with puzzles and tasks
gives a reward in the form of their solution
For whom?
Tourist games, like city games, follow scenarios that guide participants through selected locations, offering a unique and fresh perspective. They are designed for both tourists looking for an alternative way to explore popular sites and locals who want to spend their free time in an engaging way while rediscovering familiar places..
Tourist games feature elements such as the route, landmarks, nature, treasure and competition:
The ROUTE
leads not only through the most interesting places in the area, but also those forgotten or seemingly less attractive - not included in traditional tourist guides. Thanks to the game, you will discover the unknown face of various corners of Poland.
LANDMARKS -
the most interesting objects in a given town, but also lesser-known places, which only when included in a tourist game become an attraction for visitors. Inscriptions, sculptures or architectural details will guide you during the game.
NATURE
is an inseparable part of every tourist game. The game is usually played outdoors, regardless of whether it is a large city with beautiful parks or a small town located near a forest.
TREASURE
literal or figurative. Sometimes we find a mysterious chest, and sometimes we learn a secret password, known only to a few people.
Treasure is also the opportunity to experience an adventure and explore a chosen place in an unconventional way.
COMPETITION
is an important element of every game. Do you want to play with friends? Split into several teams and see who will be the better detective! The participant of the game who solves all the puzzles can enter their name on the list of winners. In the case of some games, they can also receive a certificate, as well as prizes.
How to play?
If you used to like treasure hunts and now you play RPGs or computer games, you will feel at home in a tourist game.
Or maybe you've never tried games, but your kids or students love it? Give it a chance!
To start a tourist game you will need:
The game card includes:
a detailed game scenario, i.e. game map, plot and route description
tasks to complete, for example “find symbols used by medieval builders”
a password to discover, for example “face the mysterious notes in an unknown alphabet or a military cryptogram”
Some time to explore:
The route usually takes 1-3 hours
you can take a break at any time and relax in a nice place or even plan a picnic
you can start the game at almost any time, but it is worth checking the opening hours of tourist spots described in the game card
Good company:
with more people you can divide into teams
after all competition is an important element of every game
you can also play alone or in one group
Types of tourist games
Our website offers a wide variety of tourist games. Among them, you will find detective, museum, historical, and recreational games.
Depending on the scenario and the game space, different ways of travel through the game space are proposed. So there are games on foot, bikes, cars, and even kayaks.
We can therefore divide games in various ways - for example, depending on how you access them we have:
TRADITIONAL GAMES - available in the form of a printed copy taken from a tourist information point, printed on a home printer or available as a pdf file on the screen of any device. This form enjoys great popularity thanks to ease of access to electronics.
Depending on the topic there are, for example:
And also other types of games that you can select using the filters in the find a game section.
